At Corset Story, we are proud to guarantee all of our corsets for 12 months. While our corsets are crafted to last a decade or longer with proper care, we understand the need for a clear warranty period. Our 12-month warranty covers nearly every aspect of your corset, with a few specific exclusions detailed below.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

If you believe your Corset Story corset has a defect, please email us at sales@corset-story.com with the following:

  • • A brief explanation of the issue.
  • • Clear photos showing the defect.

Once we receive your email, our Production Manager will evaluate the issue and, where necessary, suggest improvements to the technical pattern or production processes. If your corset qualifies, we will offer a replacement or refund.

Common Issues and Solutions

Here are some of the most common issues customers experience and how we address them:

  1. 1. Lacing Cord or Ribbon Coming Undone
    • Explanation: Corsets are laced to form two central loops that allow for easy tensioning. The laces are secured with a simple double knot at the bottom. Occasionally, this knot can come undone during wear.
    • Resolution: This is not a defect. Simply re-tie the knot to secure the lacing.
  2. 2. Busk Eyelets or Pins Snapping
    • Explanation: This issue usually occurs when the corset is not fully loosened before fastening or unfastening, causing excessive pressure on the busk hardware.
    • Resolution: We will replace your corset, but we recommend always loosening the laces fully to prevent damage.
  3. 3. Waist Tape Snapping
    • Explanation: The waist tape is a critical structural element in the corset, bearing most of the tension. Failures occur when insufficient seam allowance is used during sewing, though this is extremely rare.
    • Resolution: We take full responsibility for this issue and will replace your corset. Out of 60,000 corsets produced last year, only 25 reported issues with waist tape failure.
  4. 4. Corset Bones Bursting Through the Seam
    • Explanation: This can happen when the wearer sits down quickly or leans forward while seated, causing the boning to press against and burst through the fabric. This issue typically affects 2-3 boning channels at the same time.
    • Resolution: We will replace corsets affected by this issue. To avoid this, sit carefully and ensure your corset isn’t strained in seated positions.

Warranty Exclusions

While we strive to cover most issues, the following are not included in our 12-month warranty:

  1. 1. Hand-Stitched Beading
    • ○ Some of our more elaborate designs feature hand-stitched beads. Minor bead loss is not covered, but we include a small pack of replacement beads for you to sew back on as needed.
  2. 2. Damage to Outer Fabric
    • ○ Damage to the outer fabric, such as scuffs or creases, caused during wear is not covered. PVC fabrics, in particular, are prone to such issues.
  3. 3. Pulled Eyelets from Replacing Ribbon with Cord
    • ○ Some designs, especially those rated for a 0-2" waist reduction, are intentionally laced with ribbon. Ribbon slides more easily through eyelets but may pull over time. These corsets may not have the reinforcement necessary to handle cord lacing. Eyelet damage caused by replacing ribbon with cord is not covered.

Our Replacement and Refund Policy

If your corset develops a defect within 12 months, we will offer a direct replacement or refund in most cases. We rarely request defective items to be returned, as the cost and environmental impact of shipping items back to our factory are prohibitive. Instead, we recommend listing defective corsets on platforms like eBay with full disclosure of the issue—many customers find new homes for their corsets this way.

Why We Don’t Offer Repairs

While some defects are repairable, the cost and environmental impact of shipping items back to our factory in Delhi make this option impractical. We focus on providing replacements to ensure customer satisfaction.

Final Note

Our 12-month warranty reflects the confidence we have in our high-quality corsets and our commitment to your satisfaction. If you ever experience an issue, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for choosing Corset Story!
